A vital element in ensuring that your carpet retains its appearance over years of family use is the quality of the wool used and its construction. With this in mind we have developed an unsurpassed cloth available in two qualities which combine weight, density, and the highest grade wool in a 2 ply construction to achieve the very best performance.

Underlay / Underfelt

It is absolutely vital to install a good quality underlay/felt whenever installing a new carpet. Never use a 'second-hand' or cheap underlay since this will only contribute to a premature worn appearance in your new carpet.

A good quality underlay will help your new carpet look newer longer and has other beneficial effects such as noise deadening and insulation properties.

In the long run a good quality underlay can actually save you money.

Greendale Underlay / Underfelt We stock a range of Greendale Underlays specifically produced to meet our own high standards. There are several different specifications to meet the varying demands in your home. Areas such as lounges, halls and stairs require a suitable heavy grade. A lighter specification may well be adequate for bedrooms.

We will gladly advise the best grade for your particular circumstances.

Carpet Fibres

Making the right choice of carpet will also involve making the right choice of carpet fibre. We will gladly help and advise you accordingly.

Whilst wool will still be considered the premier fibre by many people, wool blends, i.e. 80% wool and 20% nylon have become standards in recent years. Nylon will add considerable abrasion properties to wools natural softness.

Wool can also be blended with other man-made fibres, i.e. Polypropylene for additional durability

With today's technology there are many excellent and advanced man-made fibres with their own advantages.

Whatever the type of fibre or blend we will only specify the best.

We will advise you and ensure you select the right fibre for the right job. After all our future depends on it!

The type and quality of fibre that goes into a carpet determines not only the way it looks, but also its resistance to wear, dirt and stains

ANTRON nylon fibres from DuPont are specially designed to keep their springy shape. Collectively they form a pile which is particularly resistant to crushing, matting and abrasive wear.

Insurance Claims

Should you suffer an unfortunate experience of loss or damage to your floor-covering resulting in a claim upon your insurance company, let us take the worry. Here's how we can help - we will gladly assist you in every possible way by a prompt inspection and accurate valuation for replacement, cleaning or repair. In normal circumstances no charges are made for quotation.

We will also happily accept and deal efficiently with a mandate from Independent Inspections.
